  1. Something weird is going on. I captured a tv show from my ATI card in Mpeg2 format. Then authored it w/ TMPGEnc DVD Author (v. 1.5.20.62). Tried to burn it w/ Pinnacle Instant Copy and it consistently spits out error message stating that "MultiCopy.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows..."
So then I decided to take the files and folders that TMPGEnc generated to DVDShrink and treat it like it was a DVD movie and back up w/ no compression. Finally, InstantCopy was able to burn w/ no problems.

Is there a setting in TMPGEnc that may cause InstantCopy unable to burn? The only settings I can find was that Creating child folder is unchecked.

    Thank you

  2. Why not use TDA to burn..

  3. Cause when I hit the burn tool I get a prompt "The ordinal 373 could not be located in the dynamic link library PX.dll". So I think I don't have that feature.

Use TMPGEnc DVD Author to create an ISO IMAGE file then burn that ISO IMAGE file with the freeware program DVD Decrypter using it's ISO WRITE mode.

No I don't know what the error means. I thought you meant you only got the error when trying to burn.

You could use ImgTools classic version to create an ISO IMAGE file from the VIDEO_TS output.

Use the files generated by DVD Author with Nero 5.5 and burn with DVD Video mode. This has worked 100% of the time with my system. No need to make ISOs at all...

Many people have issues with DVD discs that were burned with NERO

I don't trust NERO for DVD burning. Many people both agree and disagree but it is clear that "something" is not 100% "right" with NERO when it comes to DVD burning.

In my opinion you are better off taking that extra step of making an ISO IMAGE file so you can burn with DVD Decrypter. After all the ISO IMAGE making process is not that long and you can link ImgTools classic to start up DVD Decrypter automatically and start burning away.

  9. I have Nero 5.5.10.54 and I always get an error. The last time I got to 72% before getting "Invalid Block Address" in the log. I always get that error. Do you know what's causing that?

Don't make your life harder than need be.

Just create an ISO IMAGE file with ImgTools classic then burn with DVD Decrypter. Both are FREEWARE and both are FREE of the errors you get with NERO etc.

You are burning Nero discs with DVD Video mode and not ISO mode I hope? I learned that the hard way. Since switching over, I've made no incompatable discs. If he's getting a crash, then he has serious system problems and I'd check his comp. Nero is very stable on numerous systems I've seen it on: PIIIs, P4s, Athlons, Celerons, etc. No complaints from the roughly 70 discs I've burned in the past month. Most were destined for friends and they'd let me know if the discs wouldn't play. I burned them on Memorex AF1s, F01s, Maxell 4X + and - Rs. Players run the gamut from Wal-Mart cheapies to expensive multi-disc good brand models from Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Pioneer, etc.

Hey, if Fulci is so great, why did they remake Romero's Dawn of the Dead instead any of the Fulci films? Getting seriously ready to check out the new Dawn on Friday...

Remaking DAWN OF THE DEAD is like remaking GONE WITH THE WIND or CITIZEN KANE or CASABLANCA etc.

It just shouldn't be done. There is absolutely no need for it. The original is one of the most near-perfect works of modern horror cinema ever made.

I didn't nor will I see the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake. That was another worthless not needed remake.

Now I'm hearing rumors that THE HILLS HAVE EYES might be getting remade.

    INSANITY !!!

  13. Thank you for all the information.
I just created ISO file of the VIDEO_TS folder with IMG Tool. Then burned it. But the DVD machine can't read the disc. What should have I done?
Also, is there a setting to create discs that older DVD machines can read?

Unfortunatelly some old DVD players do NOT play home made DVD
There are some forums on this issue as well.
Search the net and you'll learn what you have.

I'll second the use of ImgTools Classic, yes it does add another step to the process but it's useful because it lets me add other files to the DVD prior to burning. (I burn using Roxio 6, "Create disc from image file".)

Personally, after creating the VIDEO_TS folder and prior to converting to an ISO file using ImgTools Classic, I create a PAR2 recovery set using QuickPar in the VIDEO_TS folder. Block size of 4Mb or so with enough recovery blocks to fill out the rest of the 4.35Gb DVD. Gives me the ability to repair/recover the disc later when it starts to fail and my set-top DVD player doesn't choke on the extra files in the VIDEO_TS folder (YMMV).
