I just recently purchased a NEC ND-2500A from newegg at a great price. The downside was no cables or driver. Having no cables is not an issue, however the driver missing is, I have read several reports of people installing this drive in the same manner in which I am to have XP build a driver that only recognizes it as a cd rom drive. Can anyone please point me in the proper direction. I have tried NEC's site to no avail.![]()

Maybe you are thinking about firmware updates? -
all that matters is if you can burn dvd content. Who cares if it shows your drive as a cd drive?? Same thing with your monitor. The drivers that came with my KDS monitor only correctly identified it as a KDS monitor instead of a generic one.
