  1. i'm have been looking for firmware/software for my HL-DT-ST CDRW GCE 4841B.
    for my Optorite DD0203 i need a driver to install it it my installation CD i lost it where can i download the software need or drivers to install my drivers thanks

    in device manager there is a yellow mark on my cd-rom drive.which is
    HL-DT-ST CDRW GCE 4841B. when i right click the drive with yellow mark
    click properties click the driver tab then driver detail and thease are the
    files in there cdrom.sys,imapi.sys,redbook.sys and storprop.dll
    The device is not list when i click my computer where all the drivers are
    listed Drive a: and c:
    but no D; So when when a put in a Cd like windows xp or a Cd that start on
    it own i get no response from the drive. Even if i go run a type d;\
    nothing happens i think i need software/firmware to load it up
    please help me with this thanks you


    Disconnecting the IDE ribbens rebooting the system with the drive
    disconnectied. shuting down the computer and reconnecting the drive i
    thought this my prompt the driver to reload up but it did not

  2. So which drive do you have install? from what I can understand from your post you are asking about 2 diff. drives

    Either way it sounds like you are saying winbloz is not reconizing your drive.
    You do not need drivers for this you need a working drive. Winbloze uses the same drivers for all cd,dvd drives so if it will not recognize the drive enough to show under windows explorer then the drive either is gone or something wrong with your setup.

    Make sure all the drives on the ribbon are fully connected, and have the power connected, Also check to make sure you don't have 2 drives on the same ribbon set to Master.
    Again to make sure you understand drivers for the drive are not an issue they would only be needed under DOS ( prior to msdex)
    so your problem is either bad drive, bad ribbon, bad setup,
