I'm aware of the Clip > Speed method, but I'm looking for a way to slow down a part of a clip and not the whole clip. For example, the clip plays normally, then at a certain part, it kinda fades into slow motion, then back to normal. I can do this by using three takes of the clip, cutting them, and slowing down the middle clip, but this method doesn't have a smooth transition to the slowed clip. If there was an video filter or effect to add to part of the clip in the timeline, it would be much easier. Any help would be much appreciated.

Dru.

Have you tried encoding the middle clip with it slowed down, then adding it to the two other clips?
Hello. -
Yes, but as mentioned before, it doesn't make a smooth transition into the slow and out again (ie. the switch from normal to slow is too sudden). But it seems that this method may be the only way to do this, unless someone makes a plugin that can be inserted into the Fx timeline (Ulead Media Studio Pro) at a certain part of a clip. Thanks for the suggestion, are there any others?

If you add the transition, you can adjust the time of the transition as well. You can even add a still frame to stop the action until the transition is complete, or until you are ready for the action to resume.
Hello. -
I'm aware of that method, but it just seems to be too much work for just a simple enough effect. If there are any plugins that can do this, I would be very happy.

I've compiled a list of 3rd-party plug-ins designed to work in ULEAD MediaStudio Pro 7.01.

Well I went through all of those links mentioned, and unfortunately none of them have what I need. It seems Ulead Media Studio Pro isn't looking as good as it did when I first used it.
There has to be some way of doing the effect I'm after. Anyone?

Hmm, well is there any PC video editing application that can do this slow motion effect? Has anyone here used this effect before?

I just had a closer look at the CLIP > SPEED option in ULEAD MediaStudio Pro 7.01.
I see no reason why one could not do precisely what you have described using the SPEED dialogue box.
Do you see the keyframer?
Do you see the VARIABLE speed option?
Have you tried using this function?
