    i got an xvid movie of gothika and everytime i use dvd2svcd it makes the files size to big and tpmgenc dvd auth. says that the file is to big how can i shrink the size of the file and what can i do

    Hi.. Haven't used dvd2svcd, but I would recommend you TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg2. I have created many SVCDs from DivX/Xvid using TMPGEnc, they work pretty good !!
    I split the file into two using aviutil (a Good SVCD would come in 2 CDs)
    Go for Constant Quality setting to around 82-85% (and bitrate 2520).

    To make sure that it fits into your CDs, encode initial 1% and stop the encoder. Check the size of the file created ( multiply it with 100) and see whether it would fit into your CD. If it fits pretty well, you can increase the CQ %. (For me generally 85% fits good.)

    sorry if i mislead you iam trying to make a xvid to a dvd tmpgenc is in dvd2svcd but the file comes out 100 mb to big has any1 had this problem and fixed it

    Hi, I have just done this one. Mpeg created was 3.2 gig.

    I used a 1 pass cbr, 4KB average bit rate. Quality is great.
    when I use the vbr multipass the file is always too big.

    What settings are you using.
