Can somebody help me with this so-called "ghosting"? I'm new to video editing. My footages was taken using analog Sony CCD-TRV48 NTSC handycam and when previewing the footages on TV, resolution was ok, clear. When I captured it using Pinnacle Studio PCTV card, the resolution when not full screen on the computer monitor was the same as that of the TV, but not that sharp when full screen(ghosting?). I thought that's because computer monitor is not interlaced, and after editing and authoring it for VCD format, the problem will be gone. But the problem still exist when played on a stand-alone player. Some said VCD is progressive. Does that mean ghosting will really appear when played on TV? Then why VCD movies appear great when played on TV? I think I'm missing something here. Can somebody please enlighten me?![]()

Soory I can't help but WOW !!!
somebody still burns VCD ??? Did you try SVCD ? (I assume you don't have DVD burner)
Did you capture in DV AVI through FireWire ?
I would suggest you to copy your edited video back to new MiniDV tape so you can recapture and make it DVD later on when you will get DVD burner. It will save you a lot of time spended on editing.Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
The only time I ever have ghosting is when I forget to set the field order, because my card doesn't jive with the default setting in most encoders.

I burn to vcd because here in the philippines, the prevailing medium is still vcd, and i do that to share my videos to my friends who still uses vcd. I captured it using Pinnacle PCTV video capture card. Thanks for the reply but is there any other way i can remove that "ghosting"? If i read it correctly, somebody here said it has something to do with the TV being interlaced, while computer monitor and VCD format being progressive.
