Yes, bitsetting is setting the booktype for a DVD+R to DVD-ROM and NO, the pioneer 107 doesn't support it. As far as I know, none of the pioneer drives do. To find drives that support bitsetting, click

    <------- DVD Writers

and do a search selecting the bit setting check box.

  8. Hi everybody,

I have discover your website a bit late! I have already bought a Pioneer 107D without knowing that it was not able to support bitsetting!
Next time, I know where to go!

So my question is this one:

It's not possible to change the book type of the DVD+R(RW) with pioneer writers (I can confirm, I've tried) but I would like to know if it possible to burn DVD+R(RW) whose book type would have been change before by an other DVD writer which support bitsetting?

So can I try to find a friend who could change my blank DVD and change the type and after I burn them with my pioneer?

    Thanks

  9. if you use the copying programme, copytodvd, itll do some of the work for you.
i was able to finally burn a disc that would work,on the +R format.

Straight overwriting with NERO or DVD Decrypter will NOT change the previously altered booktype of a DVD+RW (rewritable)

Of course a quick (or full erase) will reset it to +RW...but you don't need erasing
