Just wondering how to find out if this drive supports bitsetting. I bought it on newegg here is a link but I see nothing about bitsetting. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151179

The drive appears to support it, however the factory firmware does not.

Better question - are you really sure you need to bitset? The vast majority of modern standalone DVD players do not require this for successful playback. If you can't find a firmware that supports it, then note that using DVD-R for your DVD burning will solve this issue as bitsetting is only for DVD+R discs.

jman98 has a very good point. I've only ever used -R media and have never had a playback issue on any of my players.
