  1. HI, I recorded a few VHS movies to HDD with no problems. Recently I recorded one movie the Tin Men VHS to HD and In the middle of the movie the HD stops recording. Has anyone had this problem with there E80H? My Copguard machine is working fine for the first 40 mins of this movie and the HD just stops recording and goes back into the play mode.
any sugestions or tips on this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dan

I've not experienced that problem with my E-80. Of course, my setup isn't exactly the same as yours -- I don't have the copyguard box inbetween.

Just to check the basics (no insult intended with these questions):

You've verified that you have plenty of space on the drive?

You're not using a timer recording that is unintentionally stopping the record progress?

You're not messing with the unit while recording? I know it can do a bunch of cool things, but generally when I'm recording, I don't mess around with the unit.

    Just some basics to try...

Also -- try copying an unprotected VHS tape (home movie, etc) that runs longer than 40 minutes -- this will help you focus in on where the problem truly lies.

  3. Thanks for those tips. No, Once I start recording I don't touch anything.
I was using the XP mode and Then I tried the SP mode and still cut off.
But I will check tonight and see if i have the timer recording turn on by mistake. Sofar this only happen to the one movie i tried. I recorde the Garth Brooks Live from central Park And that was ok. Someone was saying that the older movies had a different copyguard in them. I'm using the Sima which is a newer copyguard machine and that might not work with the older models. I'll take your advice and try those tips you gave me. Your not being rude at all. This is how you learn things from other people. I will be happy to give advice when I learn more about this Recorder myself.

I'll let younow what happens and what maybe the cause of this problem.

    Thanks Again for your help
