  1. Hi, I just bought a Sony DVP-NS700P DVD player. I have had no luck playing SVCD's on it although it plays VCD's fine. But the VCD video quality is quite poor (compared to DVD). I want to be able to author SVCD's and play them on the tv. Is there some setting I could change to make the SVCD play on this unit or should I get another player? If so, which ones are most reliably compatible with SVCD? Thanks

    Jeff

  5. Hmmm I must be looking in the wrong place here. Under http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=sony&svcd=1&Search=Search&list=0, I get a list of Sony players and every one has SVCD in bold, which I assume means it is supported. And the NS700P is not listed at all. Where are you seeing the info you listed?

The Absolute BEST DVD Player on the market...Especially for the price.....is the APEX DVD Player. Any and All Modules will work for ANY FORMAT.

I have had a APEX DVD Player for about 1 1/2 years now so it was the very first model that they came out with and it plays ALL Formats that are available.

I Play all VCD and SVCD Disks that I have burnt.

I believe the current cost on a APEX DVD player at Circuit City is only $99.00

    Good luck!
