Could someone possibly give me some ideas as to why I can play back a VCD or SVCD in my PC fine but when I play it in my Standalone it has a stuttering problem. It appears as though when there is little or no video image (Such as the beginning of a movie) the audio plays fine, but as soon as a video image comes on both the audio and video becomes jittery?

  2. It could be that your player doesn't support SVCD/VCD, not all of them do.

It could be the CDs you are using.

It could be the bitrate you encoded at is too high for your standalone.

VCD has a pretty standard bitrate, so if VCDs are giving you trouble I would look at the brand of disc, and check to see if my player supports VCD.

    Panasonic DVD-RV31K DVD-Video Player with MP3 Playback

I have made 1 successful VCD that plays in the Standalone. But for some reason I have not been able to recreate anything I did differently to make that one work.

The other thing I have noticed is when I press pause and then start it playing again it will play the video fine for about 5 seconds, then the screen goes black quickly and returns to the audio and video being jittery again.

  5. If you haven't already, try burning the CD at 1x speed, and make sure you have a good quality disc.

I had problems with skipping until I tried this.
