The dvd burner has no problem when I read a DVD/CD and no problem with CD burning. However, when I was trying to burn a DVD, the screen was frozen when it was reading the source DVD disc. I need to power cycle the PC everytime. I have tried it a lot of times with Nero and easy DVD creator with the same result. So I believe it is not software.
Any idea will be great. Thanks in advance.
My PC has a dual processor motherboard (800MHz in total), 256Mb ram running XP professional.

Try ripping it to your hard drive first using DVD Decrypter or DVD shrink.
