dvd-r wont play in dvd-rom/burner

i just got a dvd burner and wanted to backup some dvds of the robotech macross saga. i tryed ripping it with dvdshrink 3.1 and burning with nero 6 ultra ver 6.0.0 when i try and play it in my burner with windvd 5 platium it just spins in the drive. but if i play it with BS player i can play the individual episodes and the VTS_01_0.VOB will play but not the video_ts.vob. is this an issue with the menu's or is there something im doing wrong?

Personally ,I havent had a bad rip using DVDdecrypter (MODE- 'FILES')... Id try ripping with that, shrink it appropriately with DVDshrink, then burn again with Nero.

In my opinion, DVDdecrypter is superior with ripping over DVDshrink.

ok tryed dvd decrypter try even a different dvd (bruce almighty) and the video_ts.vob is still not playing the picture that i do get is a like a tracking problem on old vhs. everything else is there and works, but players and dvd-rom playing software will not play it. anyone have suggestions or answers to why this is.

hi, have backed up my robotech macross disks via dvddecryptor->dvd shrink with deep analysis->nero 6x-> ritek g04s and they play perfectly. Could be dvd player software or media.

Yeah I agree with the above try a variations, or try your creation on a friends player.

i found out what the problems was but it still doesnt make much sense since other people seem to be able to make copies fine. basically dvdshrink wont work with my burner all dvds will come out with a corrupt video_ts.vob all other files will be fine. when ripping with instant copy and burning with nero after converting the pdi files to iso's it works. i tryed dvd x copy platium same result as with dvdshrink video_ts.vob corrupt a virtual coaster. so im using instantcopy but im hating that it takes all ******* day to get a dvd ripped. if anyone else seems to have this problem with a exprex 4X +/- r/RW burner pls let me know and if you found a solution to this issue.
