  1. I was looking at a JVC s-vhs vcr at Future Shop (Canada's Best Buy) and the sales person informed me S-VHS is a digital format. I always thought it was analogue ?

    Who's right ?

    It is analog unless you were looking at a D-VHS VCR (also made by JVC)

  3. S-VHS is purely analog. It may have some digital circuits to improve picture quality or deal with tape irregularities (like some of the high end JVC VCRs) but the format is 100% certified analog.
