Software, Media, or Player?

I have an I/O 8x burner, TDK-R and Liquidvideo+R, adobe encore, dvd decrypter, TMPGEnc dvd. set top players are Pioneer DVD 414, Initial IDM1731, Panasonic A310. I have made discs that play in some but not all the players with various combo's of the mentioned media/tools. I checked the player compatibility page and all players should go + or -.
Seems the dvd's made with Adobe Encore work in the Initial but no others...and those made with dvd decrypter or TMPGEnc work on all but the initial. Any ideas? is there a cure all? I need the kid movie backups to work in the car (initial) and in the living room without multiple copies of each movie...

try slowing your burn speed to minimum allowed by your media brand/type.
if no luck, perhaps a change of media brand... ritek G04's are highly regarded.

I slowed down to 2x and now can't finish a burn. Looking at 4 coasters! Man, things were going so smooth, I knew it had to end. I will try 1x...
