  1. I had this DVD reader program (I forget the name of the program) that would always ask to install it everytime I put in a DVD. Being extremely annoyed I did a search on the reader in the registry and deleted all the keys that were related to the DVD reader. Now, anytime I put in a DVD an error dialogue box comes up:

    Title: "Desktop"
"Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied."

I can just click "OK" and have no problems afterward, but it's annoying to have a dialogue box everytime I put in a DVD.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Depends on your OS. In Xp you can go to Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types and set what you want the default for DVD videos to be. W98 is probably similar. It sounds like your file associations is messed up. If you are not very familiar with the registry, you should leave it alone. You can easily cause permanent problems that can only be fixed by a system reinstall. With XP, use Add/Remove to remove a program if it doesn't have a uninstall. Registry is the last thing to try.
