Does the video card play any role in capturing DV from a camcorder via firewire. I have gforce2mx400 video card and am planning to upgrade to ATI9600 but would not upgrade if it won't effect the DV capturing thru FW.
Need advice from the experts.

To my knowledge, the video card does not effect the capture process.
There is one minor exception to this. If your capture app has a "preview" function, and the card is too slow to keep up, it could potentially cause issues.
Most capture apps, however, keep the preview window small, and allow it to be turned off (or reduce the quality).
For reference, I have a GForce4MX440 video card in one of my machines, and I can capture via firewire just fine.
