Hey all,
I'm a little confused by and also curious about the fact that two guides I read for converting Divx/Xvid avi's (in my case with mp3 audio) to DVD mpeg using TmpegEnc give a conversion time of 2-5 hours. One of them was with an XP2400+ system.
I have an XP2200+ system and my conversion took 15hours!
is there something I've done wrong? have I setup something incorrectly? or is it common for the program to take this long

There is NO standard. In order to compare you must use identical settings and source file.
A 5 hour encode for one may take 15 IF :
- filters are used
- 2 pass vbr instead of CQ
- audio done seperate
- motion search
- crop / resize ....... -
Add to that
-multitasking
-total free RAM
-bus speed
-hard drive speed
-any number of other different variablesCheers, Jim
