  1. I have a Dazzle capture card that plugs into my IEEE port. Since I have got it, I have captured my old vhs into DV files first, then convert to mpeg 2. I have just downloaded the trial to Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 and tried to capture directly to mpeg 2. However I get an error, telling me that source is copyrighted. I would like to know if anyone can recommend a good capturing program that can capture real-time to mpeg2. I like this feature cuase it would save me several hours of re-encoding, thanks in advance.

I never tried it with copyrighted material. It does have a trialware version, and it is very easy to run.

  5. The stuff I'm trying to capture however is not copyrigthed, it is just home videos. I'll test out the trail version and see how it goes. Thanks again

  6. What about the capture app that came with the Dazzle card? Movie Star, right? Won't that work? It sounds like you have codec issues using DVDMF.

  7. Actually, I'm not sure if my software is messed up, but my Movie Star program that came with my card only allows me to capture video into DV or AVI. Is there a way to delete all my codecs, and reinstall them? THanks

  8. powervcrII is a real time capturer software. Give a decent picture. Best bet is a standalone recorder like the panny E30

I would start by trying a re-install of Movie Star, unless you've already tried that. Movie Star should allow you to capture MPEG-1 or 2.
