  1. Since some of us are having significant problems with the latest build, in particular the no video problem, is there any way you can make a previous version available in the meantime.

I am currently unable to reliably produce DVDs using the software, and I have therefore stopped using it altogether.

It is a sham that I have paid for, and been happy using SVCD2DVD, yet I am FORCED to upgrade, and now cannot use it!!

I had NEVER had ANY problems with the previous versions.

Please consider re-releasing a previous version.

    Cheers

    Simon

Well i am not convinced it would help. To help convince me, do you have a mpg which you can show me that worked in an older version but does not in the latest?

  3. I feel the same as m0n5ter on this issue, Recently I've started burning everything to CDR again to save wasting time/discs converting to DVD.

I no longer have all my older mpg's to test since I successfully converted them to DVD using previous versions of SVCD2DVD (and don't have time to convert lots of them back to mpg to test again).

Chrissyboy: you have an mpg (i sent) which doesn't work correctly with the current release, surely identifying the exact problem with that file would help (even if it is an issue with the mpg not SVCD2DVD, then maybe we could just fix the mpg's somehow, but you need to identify the problem).

Since presumably you have not subjected yourself to your restrictive anti-piracy scheme maybe you could test the problem mpg with the old version for us?

Indeed. Which version would you suggest?

    v1.51.2 <- latest
    v1.5.2003
    v1.5.xxxx
    v1.1

  5. Was 1.5.2003 the 'final' release? Try that first 'cause I don't remember any problems with that... If that fails give the others a try too

All tests will be in the bubbz folder on the FTP.

    Test 1: 1.5.2003 FINAL.

    Same as 1.51.2

I am about to test 1.1 coz that is the one which does have an earlier version of DVDFolders.

  7. Wow, we are finally getting listened to!

I don't think I had any problems with 1.5.2003, but I could not be sure, everything changed very frequently for a couple of weeks. I know for a fact that a version I have with a date stamp of 19/9/2003 worked fine. Dunno what version it was though, but I am sure it was updated SEVERAL times after that.

Like bubbz I just d/l the vcd/svcd and burn it and then delete the files. Anything I burned to CDR I have never put on a DVD, and anything I put on a DVD that worked was never put on a CDR. So I am unable to test a previously working one with the latest version, and I am unable to test a faulty one with the old version. (Man I have confused myself I think )

Lets get to the bottom of this.

    Cheers

    1.1 is SVCD2DVDMPG - i meant SVCD2DVDMPG+ 1.0

Anyway, it chokes on the sample. It won't process it as the demuxer/muxer combination can't handle it. I need to reencode the sample but this may also influence the result......

  11. Chrissyboy: Thought i'd let you know, I burn't all the problem (s)vcd's to cdr, and since then have been using svcd2dvd again with no problems whatsoever. I must have converted 40+ (s)vcd's since then without a single problem.

I suspect that there were a few badly encoded vcd's floating around and we all were having issues with the same few releases, this would expain why a number of people had the problem around the same time, and it now appears to have vanished as mysteriously as it appeared.

Thanks for looking into it, but I guess (from my point of view at least) you can consider this thread/issue to be closed, even if not entirely solved...

bubbz: Thanks for the update. I have also come to the same conclusion. Now that this is "closed" - I have one more issue to resolve & then i can start working on v2.0
