laptop play back issuies

hello,

i use dvdshrink when i make backups of my movies. to view them at work,i play them back on laptop. now i've noticed that on some movies, t here is a freeze up and when it unlocks, it jumps up like 2min in the movie.

When i play them back on my home player, i seldom have any problems. i burn useing a sony drive, media is princo dvd-r 4x.

anyone have any similar problems or suggestion as to why this may be happening?

It might very well be the media, but have you tried using another software player? Also, which CPU does your laptop have and how much RAM is there? Do you experience the same problem when playing the discs in question on your desktop or set top player?

the laptop is pentium 4, 1.8. ram is 256 (i know, need to upgrade) and i've got win dvd and power dvd on it. its the same. when i put the disc into the drive at my work pc, i get the same issuie. perhaps its the window's environment that is cuaseing this.
