I have a Pioneer 310-s DVD Recorder and a JVC S-VHS VCR. I have it hooked up in the front with an S-Video cable and RCA cables. Once i record and finalized the disc it will play back but i don't have any audio or video just a black screen. I've selected the L-2 (that's my front input)on my recorder but i get nothing. Just did a recording from mt camcorder and all was fine but VCR recording doesn't work. Thanks for any help

I had a VCR once that needed to be set to LINE OUT before it would broudcast through the SVHS or RCA jacks. YOu might want to check something like that.

If all else fails read the manual CAREFULLY. It doesn't really say but looking through the manual i noticed that there is a section called "Front Aux. Input" and there is the key word "Input" not Input/Output. So like Philip suggested try the back panel and it worked like a charm. These problems are usually quite simple once you sit back and think about them. Again thanks to all for your help.

Hi,
You could also check the details of a/v in Main menu of 3100. As far as I remember you can chose video L2 input as: S-VHS ( RGB ? ) or Video or decoder.chose the proper input and ....... let us know. I recorded many VHS choosing " Video "L2 IN with no problems at all. Also I manipulated a little in VIDEO/AUDIO IN SETTINGS to get a result better.
