hello, recently i had a problem with my dvd recorder, it seems to work just fine with dvd-r(w) but cannot recognize or burn any cd-r(w);
from what i read on some post it seems it is from a flawed serie and i must return it to plextor, but what im wondering is:
when i use nero to burn ( 5.5.10.45 the vesrion supplied on cd when i bought my drive) i dont have a "burn-proof" icon to click when i choose a dvd compilation, although when i choose a CD compilation my "burn proof" icon is there. Also when i run the PX-info prog it says my burn-proof is deactivated
Im pretty sure the "burn proof" option was clickable when i first bought my drive, so my question is, aside from the fact that CDs arent working anymore, is my burn proof for dvd also dead ?
when i burn dvd-r's the speed seems also to vary much; usually on phillips 4X that i burn at 8X speed its something like 7.30 min, but often, like 1 time out of 2 it can vary from 9 to 12 mins, maybee that has something to do with the burn proof not working i dont know
thanks in advance for answers![]()

Same here with the TDK (same thing as Plextor). Returning soon. DVD burning is still fine though.
