  1. What methods/programs do you use?
How do you get around the 4 gig limit?
I try to use dvddecrypter then dvd shrink then burn with record now.
I have tried many times and if the file is going to be bigger than 4 gig it seperates itself into 2 unreadable files.
Is my only option dvd xpress?
    Thank you

    Upgrade.

That's all I can say. I'm a computer idiot, and I installed my DVD burner, downloaded DVDShrink, and backed up 2 DVDs in under an hour.

I'm running XP Home edition, and if I can do it, anybody can.

    Peace.

Rip with DVD Decryptor. Transcode using DVDShrink. You never have an issue of 4 Gigabytes as it creates individual .ifo, .bup and vobs <1Gb each. Then use Nero to compile all files and burn.

I think the only time you need to wory about 4Gb is if you are capturing.

First, you can't get around the 4 Gig limit. The solution is to go directly to your burner. I'm not familiar DVD Shrink; I use CloneDVD with AnyDVD and have copied everything I have attempted. There is a good tutorial using these programs in the Guides section.

And, yes, I'm using Windows 98SE

The 4Gb file limit is meaningless on DVD conversion since no file on a DVD is larger than 1GB. A 4.37GB DVD directory can be on Win98 since the limit is per file. I run Win98 on my computers and the 4Gb limit has never been a problem.
