I am capturing from an old Canovision 8mm, and a PCI card with A/V input. The captured video is extremely bright. If I lower the lighting or contrast, the darker areas become too dark. Is there any program that can automatically adjust the video brightness etc.?

Ok, I've isolated that the Cameras "RF Unit RU-E1" is the thing that makes the footage too bright. Regular TV looks very good, and I tried hooking up my Xbox, neither are extremely bright. However, when I hook up the RF unit to my TV, using the same cables, it looks fine. Could I find an 8 MM to VHS adapter and record thru a VCR?
