  1. Hi
This might not even be the right forum board to be asking this, but here goes anyway

My daughter has sent me movies of both her wedding last year which i was unable to attend, and of her new born baby twins.
These are both on seperate CDRs, and both are around the 700 meg size, and in AVI format.
What i would like to do is to make them, so i can watch them on a normal TV - via a DVD player attached to it
What would i need to do in order to do this?
I am a bit of a klutz when it comes to things like this, so - be gentle with me 8)

Personally I would use TmpgEnc... available in the tools section.

Simply install it then run and follow the wizard to create the file you want...NTSC or PAL VCD.

Once you have it encoded to the appropriate .mpg file use Nero (or YOUR favourite VCD burning proggy) to create the VCD.

Then stick it in ya DVD playa and watch away!

Good luck. See the guides section if you need more info, but both proggies are very easy to click through. 8)

If the resolution of these AVIs are large enough and of a fair quality, you should also consider converting them into SVCD format, which provides a much better quality over VCD.

In the downsize, an SVCD disk takes more time to be created, can hold up to 35-38 mins of video on a standard CDR and you should also check if your standalone player supports SVCDs (most modern ones do).

    Bets regards,
