You cannot remove it completely, but you can blur it. Try DeLogo or the LogoAway filters with Virtual Dub.
Hello. -
Actually, you can remove it completely with DeLogo, provided it is transparent and non-animated -- and provided you can get a good enough mask for DeLogo (thats the tricky part). I know, I have a near-perfect mask for a certain station, and happily remove all traces of their logo every Sunday night
Don't even bother with LogoAway, the best it can do is blur the spot horribly. DeLogo will actually remove it. -
Could you post two stills? One with the station logo, and the other still showing it removed, peferablye the same frame.
Hello. -
It is impossible to remove something that is part of the signal. Period. Best you can do is alter, cover, hide, etc. But cannot remove it. It's part of the signal. You cannot remove it any more than you can remove a character from the movie (outside of editing, cropping, covering, etc).
Screen caps do not mean anything either. Video is fluid movement. I see lots of "convinving" images of logo removal, but those are carefully selected, and do not represent the filter as a whole as it works with moving footage.
You can always output the image to frames and edit manually. That's the best way, and really the only way. But even then, you're masking and cloning, not really restoring the missing data.
Post a clip, of decent res and length, with varied scenes, as it happens in the real world, if you'd like to prove me wrong.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

If it's transparent enough, there is picture information
in the logo. It's hard to do , but I have made them
indetectable. -

I remove my logo's to an extent noticable by MY EYE -- Sure, I may not technically be removing the logo 100% purely, but too me, they're gone.
As for the clip/screenshot request, I have nothing to prove to anyone (see above statement)I'll see if I can grab a before+after screenshot of my latest cap, but I won't post a clip -- not because I'm afraid too, I just don't feel obligated to prove anything to anyone. To my eye, the logo is gone. Whether it is technically removed or not, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that I don't see the logo anymore.

A partially transparent logo is partially done for you. In that case, not much to do.

Right, and your point is what? Does removing mean less if its partially done for you already?

I'd like to add that most stations these days use the full-blown annoying logos. Even FOX has moved from translucent to animated and colorful and annoying.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

As far as logo removal is concerned, I'm from Missouri. Get it?

Don't take this the wrong way but, lordsmurf, have you even used DeLogo? It does 100x what LogoAway can do, with respect to removing a logo. From what I've seen, LogoAway can either a) crop the logo area, or b) blur the logo area. Perhaps it's just the old version I use, but I have no reason to update -- The only thing I use LogoAway for is making my widescreen black bars blacker (my caps are analog, not digital). DeLogo is far superior with respect to removing a logo imo, because it actually attempts to remove the logo rather than distort/cover it up.
I'm not looking for an argument here. I'm simply stating what I know from personal results using DeLogo for the year+ I have been using it. -
Yeah, I spent a lot of time with various method and filters. I do one of three things these days:
1. Leave it alone (typical)
2. Cover it up (rare)
3. Crop the video (rare)
I don't get the Missouri thing either. Must be a local joke or something.
No argument made, no offense taken.
Thanks for sharing your method actually.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I just got a Panasonic DVR E80H DVD Recorder and want to know if there is any program you can use on the recorder itself to remove STATION LOGOs when making DVDs.
Or are all these programs like deLogo only available for use on the computer? (My Compaq Presario MV500 computer purchased in July 1998 does not have DVD capabilities).
