    It happens about halfway into some vcd's that I've burned lately. Does anyone know the cause of it? They are like small patches that flash quickly and slighty distort that section of the screen. It seems to throw off the audio syncing as well.

    scratches/dirt on disc i found to be the main reason aswell as bad media.
    burn same video to a different disc and see if it happens in exactly same place
