Hi,
I am trying to convert an AVI file to DVD with Porocoder 2.0. While the conversion starts, I see bright color flashes on the screen that gradually become weaker and then disappear at all. This happens only at the very beginning of the conversion of the file. It started happening almost with every avi file I convert.
What's wrong? How to fix it? Thank you!

Thank you, Baldrick!
The answer is "yes": CoreAVCPro. It might happen you do not remember I was enquiring about ts files that I can hear but do not see the picture. Trying to fix the problem, I installed CoreAVCPro. It did not help though.
Is this the reason?
P.S. Removed it and it looks like everything is OK. Thanks a lot!
It looks like I was too optimistic about it: it is still there. I relbooted my PC after uninstalling CoreAVCPro but I have the same problem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. -
Hi,
Sorry to bother with the same porblem but I am really tired of fighting it.
I tried tp remove and install codecs back (I need them anyway). I have to move folders on other HD or rename the folder and try 10; 15; 25 times before I get conversion without the flashes at the beginning. I just do not know what to do. It is so annoying.
Can somebody please advise themode of action? Thanks! -
Does this happen with all AVIs you attempt to convert, or just specific ones? If so, do the AVIs have any video aspects (codec used, etc.) in common? Use a utility like GSpot or MediaInfo to check the AVIs.
In SUPER, make sure the Use DirectShow option is unchecked, then experiment with both the ffmpeg and mencoder settings, to see if the flashes continue when you use either encoder. (Use DirectShow tells SUPER to use the DirectShow filters installed on your system. Otherwise, it'll use the encode/decode routines in the selected encoder.)If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Thanks.
I use Procoder 2.0 and ConvertXToDVD for conversion. The second one does not give any flashes bguit I use it for mkv and ts only.
Flashes happen with AVIs. They use the same codecs.
I will try what you advise but I believe something should be removed or reinstalled because under normal conditions (what are "normal conditions anyway?) it never happened.
Just a weird, weird bug!
