  2. As far as I know, there isn't a dvd player available that plays HD-burns. Athough some guy on another forum claimed that his Sanyo DVD player could. I questioned him for specifics and he didn't reply. I'm guessing he doesn't know what he's talking about.

  3. Good morning!

Sanyo claims a firmware update to most DVD players will allow for the reading of HD-Burn discs. However, I have yet to hear of any DVD player that will either directly support it, or any firmware updates/hacks for a specific machine.

  4. No I think sanyo claimed a firmware update could make more dvdplayers play hd-burn but why would they?? a) No real demand B) royalties to sanyo... I think this was more of a marketing ploy, which I nearly fell for too.. Now I just burn ordinary 99 min cdr, gives me extra space and is 90-95% compatible.. It would make sense that a sanyo dvd player could play HDburn cdr tho.

  6. hd-burn lets you put 1.4 gigs of storage on a standard cdr, Would be nice if they would sell a dvd drive that would read hd-burn

Dumb question,if you took a DVD-R drive that supports HD-Burn and mounted it in a DVD player that uses an IDE drive,Daewoo 5800 for example, would it play HD-Burns?

Yes but only Sanyo based DVD writers support HD-BURN,using a $100USD+ drive to watch a CD is IMO not worth it.
