  1. I have both a pioneer 105 and 106. Recently bought 100 pack Ritek GO4 printable surface DVD-R. When burnt on 105 no problems. When burnt on 106 the burnt area seems to fade about 3/4 of the way through the disc then comes back towards the outer edges. Tried some Verbatims and they work on 105 and 106. The bad burns wont play beyond about 3/4 of the way through the video but Nero/TDA/DVD Decrypter report no faults during burn. Cant understand why 105 burns no problem but 106 fails every time with GO4,s. Even returned 106 and got a new drive still the same. Please help.

  2. bad batch of g04's maybe, I had a batch. not the inkjet.. the ones labeled as ridata and most of them wouldn't even burn the lead-in at 4x, had to burn at 2x (just on the one batch) to get successful burns.

so I ordered ritek's from a different batch this time and they work fine, but you're not the only one experiencing problems, maybe Ritek's are losing their abilility to dominate the cheap spectrum of dvd-r's.

so try burning it slower until you can buy another spindle, thats my recommendation

  3. Thanks for the reply. The only thing I dont get is why they burn faultlessly on my 105, not only one or two burns but every one so far (about 35). This is a big problem as our main work is weddings/corporate promo films. We cant fully check every disc as most of our projects last 90 - 160 mins. Do I return the Discs or just stick to the 105 until all 200 discs are done, although I still wouldnt trust these for unsuspecting customers.
