I went to play a DVD I have called Initial D (manga and bought copy too)and my DVD burner(sony DRU 510 AK) wont even see the DVD! Every program i used to play it with tells me to insert a DVD. I cannot even explore the disk or check its properties. It plays OK in my DVD player at home so I know the DVD disk is ok.Is there some sort of Protection on the disk which wont let it play in DVD burners? I can use every other type of Disk in the DVD burner from CD's to DVD's except this one.
Anyone have similar problem as me?

  2. I had a similar issue with SONY DVD-R media. Turns out, the media itself is not recognized by my burner (IO Magic) (Help came from the IO Magic forums). Since the media is DVD-R, and blank, my TDK DVD+R burner wont recognize it either, even though Pinnacle SE will burn the "Heck" out of it ... (making it, I assume, unuseable). Hope this helps.

Pandora is my computers' name ...lol

    c'ya!

I have since tried another DVD where my DVD burner will regognize the disc and play it but i cannot get it onto my harddrive for I/O errors!
When i tried it with my LG DVD rom I could do it no worries. I think it has something to do with the fact my DVD rom is older and can read the disc better?
Is it possible that they have done something to the DVD Burners to make it harder to "backup" movies?

  4. I am new to this DVD burning and I'm having a simliar problem.
I just bought a computer with a Plextor DVD burner, Px-708a and bought some DV-RWs and DV-r disks at a computer fair. They don't have any names on them so I'm not sure of their brand, but the DVD burner can't see them. The light turns orange and nothing happens.
I'm not sure if it's the blank DVDs or I need to update my software.
I'm using Nero 6.0 to burn DVDs.

i have same problem too ..

i have just bought a DVD ROM (SONY DDU1621) which has a region protection set to 1.

    I bought two DVDs

S.W.A.T. and a 4 in 1 DVD having fast and furious and speed (Both parts)

i m able t o play the latter one and not able to play S.W.A.T.

can you tell me the way i can make my drive region free ?
it has the latest firmware available on net

both discs play well in my home dvd player

i m able to browse both folders in that disc but computer shows that both folders are empty.
the disc has occupied a space of about 3.18 GB (properties)

  6. I have a similar problem. I am using the same dvd media that I have used many times before. I leant my burner to my mate and he used my blank dvds. I chucked the burner back in my computer, chucked in one of the dvds he used, first time I could view it fine, but every other time since then it wont even recognise that there is a dvd in the drive.
