The kids are into watching the 2 towers at the moment and they are wanting to watch it in their room. But i have the deluxe 4 disc set and i dont really want them playing frizbee with the discs or spilling coke on the nice packaging.
So i decided to do a backup for them to use upstairs. Now this edition has extra scenes amd extended scenes so for this reason the movie is split between 2 DVD9s. The first being 5.9 gig and the second being 6.5 gig.
So you know what i did? Yep you guessed it...used the join mode in dvd2one for a massive 12.4 gig reduction. LOL
Looked a little pixelly on my pc so i thought it best not to burn it.
Anyone else beat 12.4 gig to 4.4 gig or do i hold the record???

  2. Made some mistakes:

    LOTR_TWO_TOWERS_SEE_D1
keep one audio track English 5.1
    4199 MB

    LOTR_TWO_TOWERS_SEE_D2
keep one audio track English 5.1
    cut the end credits chapter 37, 38, 39 (about 25min, 1GB)
    4178 MB

    Altogether 8.4GB

Just an update for anyone interested.
Used dvdshrink 3.0 beta 5 and re authored the 2 discs to fit on 1 dvd-r.
Binned everything including all the credits but included 5.1 english which left 8.4 gig.
49% compression and deep analysis then burned with nero 6 on to a ritek G03.
Pioneer DV464 dvd player through a phillips 32 inch pure flat and it looks awesome!!
I cant believe how good it looks.
    Lucky??
    :P
