Problem with Pioneer 104 or Media not burning last 10% disc

I'm having some problems burning dvd-r lately. I use Nero versions 559 and 6 and get some of the same errors. THe errors range from blank command error to fixation error. NOt only is this problem happening, when it does burn and say 100% complete, it does not burn the last 10% or so of the disc. It almost seems like the laser just stops burning or the power on the beam lowers to a point it is not successfully burning all the way through the media. ANy ideas? I did buy some cheaper media, supermedia store brand. So, I'm about to buy a stack of Ritek G04. However if my drive is shot, I will hold off on buying new discs.

I did have a CD drive laser go on me once, so it's possible. And the problem presented itself on longer burns.

The further out, the faster the media is spinning by, so it makes sense, sortof..

strange thing is, it burns standard cds 100% with no problems. It should not be a power problem, I just put a 500W power supply in my computer. Krazyscotsman
