I have a DVD authored in "TMPGenc DVD Author". It's made with MP2 video files and has a fairly complex menu structure. It has a little room on it so I'm thinking of putting a slidshow on it. I have the jpg's but I'm uncertain of the best way to create a slideshow with them (to be incorporated on the DVD via TDA). Any suggestions as to what program would be best for this (freeware or low cost or general-use application)? I used "ShowBiz" for editing my movies.

Slide Show Movie Maker is free....it creates .avi's of the slideshow. Encoding to MPEG2 is your next step...TOO many options for me to suggest in that area...

Looks like this app provides no way to preview thumbnails of the slides ...all you see is the name of the slide file ...correct?

I tried to get one of the tutorials but I don't understand codecs and wasn't able locate the codec to be able to play the "avi". Also, I don't understand why this developer's tutorials are avi files - mpeg's would make much more sense...

You can create the pics in vcdeasy without going to avi, just input the files and create single frame mpg stills.

Not sure of the going rate but Ulead's PictureShow2 is pretty easy to use and has a lot of options (text on picture, transitions, narration, music). If you get the full package you will probably get Ulead's Photo Explorer8 which will also give you the ability to create "slideshows" letting you mix video clips if you want, and then you can load this "slideshow" as a chapter in PictureShow2. Most everything is pretty cusomizable too, and I can't see the difference on TV. I wanted to use Premeire to create some special effects and frameserve to MainConcept ... or another encoder... but after 3 days of trying to "fix" it for them it turned out to be a real pain in the *&^%$ so I'm creating something that looks the same anyway ... on DVD.
