I'm caturing video with the HuffYUV codec. I load the avi into virtualdub, select Full Stream Processing for video (using the divx 5.1.1 codec) and direct stream copy for audio. For some reason my video always comes out blank -- the audio is fine.

I searched the boards but couldn't find anything useful for this problem. Anybody know what's up?

    Thx

Let me also say that when configuring the divx codec, encoding with 1 pass works fine and the video comes out. If I try to use multipass (1st, or 1st then nth) that's when I get no video. Any ideas?

I setup Divx for 'multipass 1st pass' then select "Save As Avi" select a name and check the box "Job Control". I then setup divx "multipass nth pass", select 'Save as Avi', choose the same file name and check the "Job Control" box again. I then open "Job Control" from the file menu. In job control just select 'Run' to create the 2 pass job.

It is also a good idea to set audio to full processing mode on the second pass as this will save you yet another process after Divx is completed.

1 pass is general encoding. 2 pass consiste of the first pass that simply reads the video, takes notes in the log file, and decides how to apply the bitrate so the file size comes out close and how to achieve the best quality. You must save the file using the same filename each time in a 2 pass encode. And it's better to use Job Control but it's not a haft to case. So you could do 1 pass of a 2 pass job now and the second pass later. If you save the log file you can run yet several more nth passes if you like, no big deal. Just don't delete or move any of the working files.

    Good luck.

yeah I finally figured it out. The first pass with no video is what was throwing me off, but its good now. Using lame acm for the audio too. Thx
