Did ya use the exact same media in all cases?
Maybe its a case of bad media in the same batch...
do the DVD's that dont work on yr standalone work OK on yr PC?
Maybe its an authoring problem.. Whats the method you are using?

    Nero settings

    ISO Level 2
    ISO 9660
    Do not check Joliet
Do not check "relax ISO restrictions"

These settings seem to work everytime for me.

    Do settings really matter ?

    I use ISO level 1
    ISO 9660
    and check Joliet
I dont even have an option for relaxing ISO restrictions

Just curious as to what these different settings actually do.
My disc's play fine, but if they can be done better, I'm game.

Don't use NERO to burn DVD discs.

Use the classic version of ImgTools to create an ISO IMAGE FILE then burn that with DVD Decrypter. 100% error free compliant DVD everytime.

I have noticed that some DVD players become choosy if the DVD size is too small. That works for both DVD-RW and DVD-R.

To avoid any problem, I normally copy additional files in the audio_ts folder so that the DVD size reaches at least 4GB.

And by the way, I burn with Nero 5 using the DVD-Video template set to ISO mode level 1. SInce then, no more problems.
