Hi there,
i have a small problem:
I made a VCD and a XVCD (both PAL) from the same movie. VCD with a standard template and the XVCD with a bitrate 2100 so that the movie fits on 2 CDīs in both cases. Now the problem:
When playing the VCD i receive a full screen, when playing the XVCD i get 2 small black borders like 16:9 or something. I would like to have the XVCD also in full screen just like the DVD and VCD is....!?!?
Did i missed something in the TMPGenc. Settings?
Would be cool if anyone could help me out..!!
Thanks in advance.

Okay, presumably, the aspect ratio is wrong in one of them... Which of your discs (VCD or XVCD) looks slightly squished when played back on TV?
You probably made a mistake with the source aspect ratio setting on one of the discs...

Thats the problem. It doesnīt look squished at all. The picture just has the borders (with XVCD)and i donīt really want em...
Do you have any idea? Would be great!!
Thanks -
a vcd encoded of a regular tv size movie with the correct aspect ratio, when played on your computer, will appear to have 2 black bars on the left side and the right side, when you view it on your computer. that's because vcd 2.0 format is larger width than the 4:3 aspect ratio. when you play it on your tv those black lines will not appear.
if it's any other problem than the answer i just gave, somewhere you encoded the aspect ratio wrong. -

Hold on a sec...
A VCD encoded from a full screen source (PAL or NTSC) will not have black bars anywhere.
Regards.

@ vitualis: i am not talking about the VCD, VCD is alright on my TV. The black bars appears on the XVCD just like a 4:3 Letter Box. And i dont have any black bars on the left or the right side. I was just wondering why the VCD plays with Fullscreen and the XVCD doesnt...???

fitte, let's start this again...
Compare to the ORIGINAL DVD.
Is it letter boxed?
Which one, the VCD or XVCD looks closest to the DVD?
You stated that there wasn't an aspect ratio problem with one of the discs before... This can't be true if one disc is letterboxed and the other isn't (unless there is a cropping issue as well).
