I just ripped Woody Allen's Manhattan, and when I was messing around with the rip & TMPGEnc DVD Author, I got an error message...which made me realize this DVD is at 9.801 Mbps. I thought 9.8 was the highest for a normal DVD...and is it going to cause me any problems?

It depends on the player. Some can tollerate more bitrate than others. 9.8 mbts is a safe zone, but that's for both video + audio bitrate. The only way to tell for sure is to try it out. It may work in your player and barf in another player.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
