    Version 3.1.3 - 18 Jan 2004
    ---------------------------

Added support for RGB 16-bit and 24-bit video preview (for really
    old video cards).

Fixed possible crash during video preview initialization.

Added preference options for overlapped I/O and read block size,
this may increase ripping performance on some systems.

Changes to Nero initialization parameters which caused excessively
slow read speeds on some configurations.

Added Nero burn options: write speed, book type and DVD+R/RW high
    compatibility mode switch.

Fixed "no default audio" and "no default subpicture" options in
re-author mode. These are the default selection. In this case the
DVD player determines which streams to play.

Fixed bug where deep analysis could still be forced on.

Increased maximum compression to same level as 3.0b5.

Fixed bug which prevented opening of individual IFO files (can
do this by dropping IFO file into DVD Shrink main window, use with
caution because unless you open a VIDEO_TS.IFO file the output
will not be a complete DVD).

  3. Hi you two.

The lack of interest for this thread is quite surprising.

This post should be in "latest news".
Changing the thread title to "DVD Shrink update" would help.

  13. Even with v3.1.3, I'm still having problems with Nemo

Got a different error this time:

"Overlapping I/O" ( or something like that )

Tried it twice ... got the same error.

  14. Didn't I see an update log that says a bug has been introduced regarding closed captions ?

    http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/dvdshrink_history.txt

Can anyone confirm that this is true ? The version I've got seems to handle this and I believe I'm only one version down from the latest.

  15. Does anyone know if the DVD-ROM bitsetting option works with all drives including the Liteon 411s with latest firmware?

The bitsettings work with the 411s as long as you set it to dvd-rom with the booktype utility before you burn. The booktype program is just for the 411s and 811 liteon burners.

  17. Yah I know that but does the new option in DVD Shrink take the place of using that utility?

Say what? Ah, that sucks. Well, I guess I'll go down 1 notch to 3.12 until the bug in 3.13 is worked out.

The 3.14 beta is ALREADY out. I just checked the main site and it was there. Maybe it addresses that problem.

  23. The stripping of closed captions has been an issue with DVD Shrink since its first release.

    Closed captions are not subtitles.

P.S: closed captions will be stripped by DVD Shrink anytime compression is applied.

  26. Hi all.

v3.1.5 will be the first version not to strip Closed Captions, and should be available in a week or so.

  27. Will the new version of DVD Shrink have features to choose titles in the "Main Feature." I was ripping American Wedding, and I want to backup everything, except the cencored version. If there is a check box in front of title 1 and title 5, I can just uncheck title 1 and backup everything with the un-censored version. The compression percentage will be much higher - better quality backup. Just a thought...

  28. DVD Shrink development has ended I'm affraid, so no new features will be added.
The Closed Caption issue is considered as a bug (sort of) which is why it will be fixed.
