  2. You need to convert first and then burn with something like nero. Go to the convert section and from the drop down menu select avi to dvd.
    If it's wet, drink it

    In theory Nero can do it, but that's just in theory. The same goes for every application that claims to be able create a Video DVD from any AVI source.
    The AVI format is simply too loose, and can contain almost any kind and combination of audio and video formats.

  5. I see, in your opinion what tools would you use from start to finish,
    Start = AVI movie
    Finish = Burned DVD “that plays lol”

    Thanks again

    VirtualDub to check the AVI, resize it (see frame serving), and if needed extract the audio (if it's not already in a shape A) suitable for DVD (see WHAT IS -> DVD top left)) or B) in a format your encoder can't read).
    Audio conversion software xyz to wav, where xyz is the format of the audio track in the AVI.
    An encoder - TMPGEnc or other (MainConcept, CCE ...)
    Authoring software - IfoEdit, TMPGEnc DVD Author...
    DVD ISO creator - imgtools classic
    DVD ISO writer - DVDDecrypter
