  1. Hi there guys,

I am trying to make some DVD-videos so that I can watch them in a standalone DVD player. I would like to put 10 * 20 min divx clips on to a DVD.

I have tried a couple of methods but always find the TempEnc always tries to expand each clip to 97% of the disc. I have tried reducing the sample rate etc and can only manage to shrink it down to a 1/3 of the DVD.

Each clip is only 200Mb each and has MP3 sound encoded in it. I would like to have each clip seperate ie a different chapter.

I was wondering if there was an easy way of doing this from scratch. I have tried so many of the How Tos and have looked at the forum for info. But I can only find info on how to put one clip on.

    Thanks very much,

    Rich

  2. Convert each clip to vcd and then use tmpgenc dvd author with all the completed clips. Encoded to vcd you should be able to get "around" 13 20 minute eps on the disc.

  3. Whaen you can convert each clip to VCD, do you mean convert them to MPEG-1?

    Would this method work?

  4. If all your 10 divx files are the same spec (Framesize, audio bitrate and sample rate etc) you should be able to join them in VirtualDub (append avi segment using direct steam copy). This would give you just the one file as your input to TmpgEnc.

Encode to low resolution dvd, 352x480 or 352x240. If you are using tmpgencs wizard select the pal or ntsc (low resolution).

I did a similiar project for my daughter last week. I used 38 short video clips of 3-5 minutes each. Some were mpeg, .asf and .wmv. I loaded all the files in Tmpgenc as a batch and chose 352x240 standard NTSC template. After TMPGenc re-encoded to the proper specs. I opened TMPGenc dvd author. I added the 1st file, then clicked on "add track" and added the 2nd file, repeated this procedure untill all video files were added. Went to "create menu" and created an animated menu for each video clip. Took app. 48 min. for TDA to finish. I saved to my hard drive. I opened Windvd and checked the finished project. Satisfied I burned to dvd. Result is a dvd that when put in my dvd player shows a menu that allows me to choose which video to play.
ps. In TDA make sure to choose "play main menu 1st" before beginning output.
