Try burning at 1x or 2x. Some burners just don't do well at 4x, even tho they are rated as such.

As a rule....Ritek makes excellent media...however.....the G04's are usually the type people stick with. No idea what the *orange* quality is. Mebbe fakes.

    Orange is likely overprints.

  5. I've had similar probs at about 45 minutes into DVD-R and DVD-RW (various manufacturers) with Sanyo, Sony, and Emerson players. It always happens at the same respective point in the movie. I rip with DVDDecrypter, DVDShrink 3.1, then burn with DVDCopy. I've tried different media, different compressions, etc. I've tried using a slower write speed (from 4x to 1x) and it seems to have fixed a bit of the problem but I still get it periodically.

H/W: Pioneer AO6U, Pinnacle PCTV Cap card on plenty of ram and hd space.

Does anyone know the reason a DVD will skip if its not a physical problem? Could it be a read ahead or drive cache issue?

I echo the frustration and I've torched about $50 in media burning crap backups. Any help beyond what this thread has offered already??!??
---Right now I'm having amnesia and deja-vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Anything u have going on in the background can cause issues while burning or processing. Virus scans, SETI, screen savers, surfing the web while burning....it goes on and on.
