Everytime i burn a dvd and watch it on my dvd player it skips, it plays commercial dvds perfectly, but when I play it on my other dvd player its fine, and another persons it skips sometimes too. Im using the taiyo yuden disks I bought from supermediastore or something like that. I use imgburn to burn image files at 6x/4x most of the time. If i convert dvds I use ConvertxtoDvd. Any tips?

Could be a few things going on,media might be at fault, happens to ty at times, dvd player might be picky as to the media being played including your friends dvd player, try another dvd burner on a different computer and brand to rule out the dvd burner and media and computer.

Most of these of problems are caused using poor media, recommend you try Verbatim. I have been using Verbatim x16 DVD+R for a long time without problems, I burn all backups at 6x.

  6. Try another program such as DVDShrink(for commercial DVD's) or DVDFlick(for videos).
If the DVD skips on your PC then it's an authoring/encoding problem,if it only skips on a standalone then it's a media problem.

sometimes it can be the dvd's that you choose. so, you can try to either burn the video at a lower speed or just buy a different brand
