Problem: ripped a damaged dvd (85 vts files but the files 79 to 85 are UNREADABLE)
with DVD Decrpyter....selected "Skip File" to get most of the dvd.
Damage is Bad ie.missing surface layer on the outer side of the dvd.

Good News: The main part of the dvd is intact... ie plays the movie fine...but if you try to
select bonus features the disc will lock up my dvd player.

Question: how can i disable the content that is corrupt ? ive tried ALL programs to recode and/or remove/disable the content....but alas none will open the image because it has corrupted vts files. (Ive triedNeroRecode,DvdShrink,InstantCopy,DVDfab,DVDxCopyand ifo edit 095 (hmm ....ifoedit im still a dummy with that app)

Anyways: hope someone can give me some clues

oops p.s. i would normally "re-author" the dvd with various dvd software..but..
it is a highly "Interactive" dvd with multiple angles and braching streams

Kinda difficult to do without having to go for full-on high end authoring software.
(if i could do that, id try to get a job authoring dvds )

  3. Do you have separate DVD-ROM and burners? Sometimes I get problems with my ROM, but if I put it in the burner it will work....

tried ripping the dvd on 2 different model Samsung DVD ROMs
    1 LG DVD ROM
    1 Panasonic DVD-RW Burner
    1 Pioneer DVD+/- W Burner

All of them could not rip the complete dvd, i gave up and realized the DVD Disc was Stuffed :\

  5. two things i can suggest:

    1. try a differen't ripper. When i had problems with crappy generic dvds i received from people and had to recopy, i ran into errors similar to yours. I normally would use smart ripper. When that program would fail, i then tried clad dvd ripper and that worked fine. Then again decrypt is a good ripper so it just may very well be the disc.

    2. their is an app called menuedit (or it's two words). This will allow you to do what you are looking for. It opens up the still pics for dvd menus and you can disable or alter the button structure. In your case you could get rid of all of the buttons entirely for the clip you do not want played, so you will no longer have access to it. The free version just shows you where the buttons are, the paid one loads up the actual background clip

I know some goody-goodies are going to disagree with me, but...

Is it a common DVD or a rare one?

If it's common, this is the ONE instance in which I feel that getting those missing files from a rental DVD is legitimate and legal.

    DVDShrink 103 might help ...

I had a DVD title set that had problems ... and DVDShrink 103 wasn't so picky.
