I'm trying to convert some anime episodes from avi to dvd. I've been able to do so quite well when trying to just fit 3-5 episodes per DVD, but I want to fit 8-10 on there now.
I decided to try using Half-D1, since they aren't really high quality to begin with. I think I encoded 2-pass VBR with an average of 2000-something. However, when I play it back, many of the 'lines' look jaggy. Is there anything I'm doing (or not doing) that might be causing the picture to not look smooth? Is there something else I should do when converting to Half-D1 instead of normal? Any help would be appreciated, especially if you've dealt specifically with anime episodes.
