Shadow Thief Virus

Hi

I recently had the shadow thief virus in the winservn.exe file. I couldn't get rid of it so i restored my pc back to factory settings, i've redownloaded the windows updates and put all of my programmes back in and everything is working fine except for my anti virus software which is Mcafee. I,ve also tried to do a virus scan on pcpitstop.com but it won't let me, it comes up with a message about their virus scan runs on active x and i need that to run a scan. I've checked the active x on my pc and its working fine and everything is set to what it should be, i've used the pcpitstop virus scan before i had the shadow thief virus so why can't i use ot now. Does anyone know if it has permantly damaged something on my pc or has it removed something. Would be very grateful if anyone could help.

It may have corrupted a file or two. Just uninstall your Mcaffee, reboot then Reinstall it. Scan your computer for viruses after that
