  1. Recently I purchased the above mentioned modem as I had heard a lot about US Robotics modem for Indian Rs.1,500/-(US $32 approx.). I find this modem in any way superior to other Internal modems such as D-Link,Dax, Microtek etc. The connecting speed is 44 KBPS which is exactly the same I used to connect with my earlier D-Link Internal modem. The bundled Control Center Software does not recognise the US Robotics Modem and so I am unable to use the software. I have updated the driver using the supplied CD.
    The Specs of my computer:
    Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz 800MHz
    Intel D875 PBZ
    Corsair Memory 256 MB DDR-SDRAM 400 Mhz
    N Vidia TNT 64 32 MB AGP
    Adaptec Firewire card
    Samsung 7200rpm 40 GB Harddisk
    Samsung Combo drive(DVDrom+CDwriter)
OS Windows XP Pro Service pack 1
Are there any other users of this particular modem ? What shall I do to rectify the problem ?

  2. XP should've found that. But since it didn't try the old fashioned "Add/remove hardware option under the control panel

Also go to the Manufacturers site and get the latest driver, if you can connect to the net on another computer.
