  1. I have 80 minutes of viddo on my DV camcorder, I use Pinnacle studio 8 to capture the video & I want to burn it to a 80 minute CD as a VCD. However, the 80 minutes of video will not fit on the 80 minute CD. Only about 68 minutes will fit... can anyone tell my why, or what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

When authored correctly, you get almost 80 (79.something) min VCD video on a CD. With overburn, a minute or 2 more.
If you just get 68 minutes, you're surely doing something wrong. What exactly is impossible to tell from your brief explanation.

  3. How exactly are you encoding your video.

  4. Ok, Thanks guys, here are some details: I use Pinnacle Studio 8 to capture & encode the video, I also use it to create the VCD. They are all simple steps to do in Studio 8 but maybe it is not encoding it correctly?

  5. Not familiar with that software, is there anywhere to specify bitrate, bitrate for VCD should be 1150Kbps.

You cannot fit 80 minutes of dv from a cam to a cdr (in general) due to the inherent limits of the format. In other words alot things behind the scenes take up space on the media that are hard to judge. This limit is discussed on this site. I would suggest editing the footage to fit or try dvd if possible.

You can if you convert it to VCD, see above.
