    I try to burn a dvd video with nero. When I click burn it says the blank DVD is a CDR. I have 3 different brands of DVD and it says the same thing with each one. Can anyone help me please?

    What version of Nero? What make/model of DVD burner?

    Send a message via ICQ to KTL Send a message via AIM to KTL
    Try flashing your DVD burner with the latest firmware from the manufacturer also, since it contains the media codes.

    I suggest you look at the top left hand of the panel and change it to DVD!!.

    I am running the demo version of Nero 6 as well as a Pioneer DVR-104 in my compaq. I have tried to download some firmware but it will not install. Any suggestions?????????

    Make sure you select DVD, on the top left corner. There should be a dropdown box which allows you to select between CD, DVD, etc.

    Ur pioneer also might enjoy having pxengine which makes them work better & its a free download at pioneer.com I think, its just yours is so old so .,

    I had a similar problem with my Memorex DVD burner and Nero 5. Nero does not recognize the burner until i upgrade to Nero 6 and the problem was solved.
